Windsor police arrest alleged serial smash-and-grabber

A 29-year-old man has been charged after Windsor police say he broke into multiple businesses and vehicles.

Investigators from the Target Base Unit had been looking into a series of smash-and-grab thefts at multiple area businesses. In some cases, the thief used stolen vehicles to intentionally drive into the front entrances of businesses to gain access.

Constable Bianca Jackson also said that commercial and recreational trailers were taken from compounds.

The exact number of incidents has not been disclosed, but the man now faces numerous charges, including theft, break-and-enter, possession of stolen property, and failure to comply with a release order.

Police are still investigating auto thefts and break-and-enters that have taken place in recent weeks. Anyone with information, or security camera footage to share, should call Windsor police's Target Base Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4350. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a cash reward.
