Applications for summer jobs program now open

Employers can now apply for the Canada Summer Jobs program.

The program offers subsidies for not-for-profit organizations, public sector employers, and private sector businesses with 50 employees or less to hire young Canadians.

This year, the government is focusing on creating opportunities for youth with disabilities, Black and other racialized youth, and Indigenous youth.

Funding will also be allocated based on regional priorities. In Essex, those include positions in the skilled trades, small business, tourism development, and working with youth and seniors.

MP Chris Lewis is hosting a virtual Canada Summer Jobs Information Session on January 5, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.

The application can be found online, here.  The deadline to fill out the application is January 12, 2023.
