Lakeshore man faces impaired driving charges

A 52-year-old man is facing charges after the OPP received a complaint about an impaired driver.

Officers from the Lakeshore detachment received a report Monday night about someone driving erratically on County Road 22. Shortly after 8:30 p.m., police found the vehicle in Belle River and stopped it.

Following an investigation, the Lakeshore man driving the vehicle has been charged with operating while impaired by alcohol and failing to comply with a demand.

"The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive," said the OPP in a media release. "Report impaired drivers. Should you observe a suspected impaired driver, please dial 911 or contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122."

The suspect will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court at a later date.
