Group of tool thieves sought by Windsor police

Windsor police say a group of men took "do it yourself" to a whole new level.

Investigators say that it happened on the evening of January 17 at a home improvement store on Division Road. At around 8:30 p.m., five men entered the store. While one of them occupied an employee, the others allegedly went through the store and stole about $5,000 worth of tools.

The suspects were then seen driving off in a black SUV, resembling a Dodge Journey.

Images of the men and the getaway vehicle were recorded on store surveillance cameras, and police are asking the public to take a look.

Anyone who may recognize any of the suspects or the vehicle, or can provide additional information, should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4000. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a cash reward.
