Windsor police seek to identify trumpet thief

Investigators are looking for tips from the public after someone allegedly stole a very expensive musical instrument.

Few details have been released, but Windsor police say a woman entered a music store on Walker Road near Tecumseh Road East.

The woman was seen looking at a trumpet that was valued at over $5,400, then leaving with the instrument without paying for it.

A security camera captured an image of the suspect, and police are asking residents to take a look.

Anyone who knows who the person is, or can provide additional information about this incident, should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477), to be eligible for a cash reward.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
