Antonino's Riverside location now open

Antonino's Original Pizza is opening its fifth location, this one in the Riverside neighbourhood.

Anticipation of the opening has been growing for months as the site on the corner of Wyandotte Street and Thompson Boulevard was renovated.

“The staff is trained. Shelves are stacked to the ceiling. Almost 1,500 pounds of dough has been prepped, and approximately 750 pounds of Uniondale Brand Mozzarella from Galati Cheese has been shredded. We’re ready,” said Joe Ciaravino, president and franchisor of Antonino's Original Pizza.

The opening comes in time for National Pizza Day on Thursday, Super Bowl on Sunday, and Valentine's Day next Tuesday.

Valentine's Day has been a busy day for the pizza shop that offers customers heart-shaped dough for the occasion.

For the month of February, $1 from the sale of every Heart-Shaped menu item will be donated to Windsor Regional Hospital's Heart Catheterization Lab.
