UPDATE: Active police investigation underway in Leamington

Ontario Provincial Police are handling an active investigation in Leamington.

Few details have been released, but officers were in the area of Sturgeon Meadows Avenue near County Road 33, late Friday morning.

The investigation is in the early stages and the OPP will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Constable Steven Duguay told WindsorNewsToday.ca that Sturgeon Meadows Avenue had reopened as of 1:30 p.m. Friday, but a police presence is still in the area.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
