Leamington man charged with credit card fraud

Ontario Provincial Police say a 39-year-old man is facing multiple fraud charges, accused of buying items with a stolen credit card.

On Thursday afternoon, officers responded to a complaint about credit cards and other personal items stolen from a vehicle on Erie Street South. The following day, police received another complaint about a wallet stolen from someone in a business on Talbot Street East.

OPP Constable Steven Duguay said investigators were led to different businesses. They determined that the cards were used to make fraudulent purchases.

A Leamington man was arrested Wednesday morning. He is charged with ten counts of improper use of a credit card and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court. The man was held for a bail hearing in a Windsor courtroom.
