New hospital design ready for public viewing

The public will soon have a chance to take a first look at the new acute care hospital's design.

The project management team for the new Windsor/Essex Acute Care Hospital is hosting two virtual town halls, one in English and in French.

“The New Windsor/Essex Acute Care Hospital is really starting to take shape, and we look forward to sharing these evolving plans with members of the community, whose input has also played an important role in the design,” said Allison Johnson, manager of communications and community engagement.

At the town halls, the architects will discuss the evolving design of the hospital, and receive public feedback on the working drawings.

For over a year, user groups representing all clinical and non-clinical programs and services have been working with the architects and hospital planners to create the functional program and campus plan.

The town halls will give the public an opportunity to view the early plans, and give feedback before they are submitted to the Ministry of Health in April.

The English event is scheduled for March 7, and the French event will be held on March 9. Both events start at 7 p.m.
