Tip leads to four arrests in Lakeshore

A call from an alert resident has led to four arrests for property offences.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Lakeshore answered a call shortly before 4 a.m. last Friday about a vehicle in a ditch on Hawthorn Drive at Oriole Park Drive.

The officers had been responding to a report about a suspicious person on Bissonnette Lane when the vehicle was leaving the area and crashing into the ditch.

Following some questioning, four people in the vehicle were arrested.

A 35-year-old from Essex, a 40-year-old from Windsor, a 32-year-old from Leamington, and a 30-year-old from Sarnia are each charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000, possession of break-in tools, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The suspect from Leamington was also charged with failure to comply with a probation order.

The charges have not been proven in court. The four suspects were released from police custody and will have a chance to respond to the counts in a Windsor court on March 29.
