Break-and-enter suspect caught in the act in Lakeshore

An Amherstburg man has been arrested following a break-in in Lakeshore.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a burglary-in-progress call on County Road 8, shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.

Police discovered that the suspect was still on the secured property, and arrested him without incident.

The 33-year-old man is charged with theft under $5,000.

The charge has not been proven in court. The suspect was released and will have a chance to respond to the charge in a Windsor court on March 23.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
