Charges laid after Forest Glade house explosion

A Toronto man is facing arson charges after a home in Forest Glade was levelled in an explosion.

Windsor emergency crews were called to the scene on Aspen Lane around 4 a.m. Sunday.

When Windsor police officers arrived, the house was completely levelled and several neighbouring properties were damaged.

Police say a man, whose clothes smelled of accelerant, was found nearby with serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries.

The Windsor Police Arson Unit determined the explosion was criminal.

A 24-year-old Toronto man has been charged with arson with disregard for human life and arson causing property damage.
