Windsor to add tennis, pickleball courts this year

To meet growing demand, the City of Windsor will soon begin work on several new tennis and pickleball courts.

The courts will be built at three parks across the city. Each set will consist of four pickleball courts and one tennis court.

Work on the first set of courts will begin this week at Fontainebleau Park, with an expected completion date in August.

Later this month, construction will begin on the set at Goldenwood Park, with a completion date also expected for August.

Wilson Park will have construction on its own set of courts beginning in May, with an opening projected for September.

All parks will remain open during construction, but users are asked to stay away from construction areas.

The City of Windsor operates tennis and pickleball courts at a total of ten parks across the municipality. The courts at Parkside Tennis Club in Jackson Park, however, are not operated by the City.

Tennis and pickleball courts operated by the City are typically open from late April to October 31, weather permitting. Hours are 8 a.m. to dusk, except for courts with lights which are open till 11 p.m.
