High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Kingsville Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a three vehicle collision on Friday night that sent one of the drivers to hospital with serious injuries.
Around 8:25 p.m., police say emergency crews responded to a crash on Highway 3 between County Road 23 and Cameron Side Road.
Only one of the vehicle occupants was transported to hospital for injuries, according to a spokesperson from the Essex County OPP. No update has been provided on their condition at this time.
The road  was closed for investigations until about 6 a.m. on Saturday morning.
