Firefighters handle fires in Windsor and Essex

An investigator was on the scene of a fire east of downtown Windsor Wednesday evening.

Few details have been released, but Windsor Fire and Rescue was called to the area of University Avenue East and Marentette Avenue.

The fire was put out by 6:45 p.m. There were no reports of injuries.

Windsor fire officials were on scene Wednesday night to determine the cause and damage estimate.

Meanwhile, in Essex, firefighters say a house fire on County Road 15 caused $350,000 damage.

The fire, between North Malden Road and County Road 12, is listed as accidental.
