Construction starts on dog park at Elizabeth Kishkon Park

Crews start work on the first phase of a new dog park in east Windsor this week.

Phase one of construction at Elizabeth Kishkon Park includes drainage improvements, new asphalt trails, and concrete pads.

Elizabeth Kishkon Park is on Banwell Road at Little River Boulevard.

The City of Windsor said the work should take up to four weeks, followed by two weeks of remediation.

Phase two will start in the fall when a fence goes up around the 1.5-acre dog park.

City officials believe the park will open to the public by the end of the year.

Elizabeth Kishkon Park will stay open, but users should avoid the construction area.
