Police issue warning after home invasion near downtown

Windsor police are warning residents to make sure their doors and windows are locked following a home invasion last week.

It happened around 8 p.m. Monday on Riverside Drive East near Aylmer Avenue. A man was caught on doorbell camera entering a home through an unlocked door.

The resident was home at the time and they confronted the suspect, who fled the scene with the resident's wallet containing cash and credit cards. No injuries were reported.

Police have released an image of the suspect, who is described as a Black male, 25 to 35 years old, wearing a grey hoodie and a black shirt.
