Windsor police seek suspect in west-end shooting

Investigators are asking the public for help in identifying a person wanted in connected with a shooting late Tuesday night.

Windsor police say officers were called at around 10:30 p.m. to the area of Tecumseh Road West and Campbell Avenue. Police arrived and found a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his right arm. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to Constable Bianca Jackson, officers learned that a man cornered the victim in a targeted attack, shot him, then ran east on Tecumseh Road West.

Police have released a security camera image of a suspect with what appears to be a weapon in his hand, and have asked the public to take a look.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 18 to 30 years old. The suspect wore all-black clothing and a surgical mask.

Investigators are asking residents and business owners to check security or dashcam footage and give police a call if they see anything unusual between 10 p.m. and 10:45 p.m.
