Four drivers facing impaired charges

The Essex County Ontario Provincial Police arrested and charged four drivers with alcohol-related driving offences over the weekend.

On Friday night, the Lakeshore detachment responded to a collision at the intersection of County Road 22 and Wallace Line Road.

When police arrived, they discovered witnesses to the collision had taken the keys from one of the drivers.

Police say the driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and they were arrested and taken to the local detachment for further testing.

The 32-year-old is facing impaired driving charges and has a 90-day license suspension. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Three other drivers were also charged over the weekend.

Another driver was charged in a fatal collision on County Road 22 on Saturday.
