Police search for vehicle spotted leaving suspicious fire

The Ontario Provincial Police in Lakeshore is investigating a suspicious vehicle fire and hope residents can provide tips.

The OPP and firefighters from Lakeshore responded to the fire just after 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at a business on Patillo Road, north of County Road 22.

The vehicle was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived.

Police are looking for the driver of a black Ford Explorer spotted leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. The license plate was covered, and a witness spotted someone in the vehicle throwing items out of the window.

Investigators think oil residue may still be present on the driver's side.

Anyone with information can call Lakeshore OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
