County firefighters busy with a pair of blazes Tuesday

Two fires in Windsor-Essex kept firefighters working Tuesday.

The first was reported in Harrow. Essex Fire and Rescue crews were called around 10:30 a.m. to tackle a barn fire on Drummond Road near the 4th Concession. When firefighters arrived, the structure was engulfed.

Two stations were summoned to help bring the fire under control.

The second fire was reported in Amherstburg. Around 5 p.m., two stations of the Amherstburg Fire Department responded to a garage fire on Texas Road near Concession Road 2.

There were no reports of injuries in either incident.

There has been no word on the cause of either fire or a damage estimate.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
