Rally planned to support striking Windsor Salt employees

Windsor Salt employees have now been out on strike for three months.

The 250 members of Unifor Local 240 and 1959 walked off the job on February 17 after they were unable to reach an agreement with the owners of Windsor Salt, Stone Canyon Industries. Job security and wages are key issues in the negotiations.

There have been no reports of contract negotiations since talks were halted at the end of April after an assault allegation.

A rally will be held in support of striking workers on Friday, May 19 at 3 p.m.

Ontario N.D.P leader Marit Stiles will be attending the rally.
