Windsor police appeal for tips in west-end shooting (VIDEO)

Investigators are turning to the public for help in identifying a person wanted in a shooting two weeks ago.

Windsor police say officers were called at around 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, to the area of Tecumseh Road West and Campbell Avenue. Police arrived and found a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound in his right arm. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers learned that a man cornered the victim in a targeted attack, shot him, then ran east on Tecumseh Road West.

Police had previously released a security camera image of the suspect who appeared to be holding a weapon.

On Wednesday, police released a surveillance camera tape of the suspect walking along one of the streets around the time of the shooting. Images of a white Dodge Charger seen near the scene of the attack have also been released.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 18 to 30 years old. The suspect wore all-black clothing and a surgical mask.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
