Police arrest man carrying loaded handgun

A 37-year-old man is facing multiple weapons charges after he was found carrying a loaded firearm.

Windsor police say the arrest was made Thursday near Walker Road and Airport Road. The suspect was reportedly apprehended as he exited a business in the area. The Drug and Guns Unit and Emergency Services Unit were involved in the effort.

While searching the suspect, police found a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic handgun that was loaded with ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, the accused is charged with possession of a loaded firearm, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, unsafe storage, carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a firearm in an unauthorized place.
