Windsor splash pads now open for season

The City of Windsor is kicking off a long weekend by opening its splash pads.

Starting Friday, as Victoria Day weekend gets underway, splash pads will be activated at 11 locations across the city. The hours for these splash pads are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day, weather permitting.

* AKO Park, 4270 Alice Street

* Captain John Wilson Splash Pad, 3950 Ducharme Street

* Ford City Splash Pad, at Garry Dugal Park, 1247 Drouillard Road

* Forest Glade Park, 3265 Forest Glade Drive

* Fountainebleau Park, 2960 Rivard Avenue

* Fred Thomas Park, at Windsor Water World, 400 Wyandotte Street East

* Jackson Park Splash Pad, 125 Tecumseh Road East

* Kimmy Lucier Splash Pad, at Mic Mac Park

* Mic Mac Splash Pad, at Mic Mac Pool, 1125 Prince Road

* Realtor Park, 1198 Homedale Boulevard

* Wilson Park, 700 McEwan Avenue

Washrooms are available at all parks except for Fountainebleau, Fred Thomas, and Wilson.

The splash pad at Remington Park will reopen when the park's pool opens, and its hours will coincide with the pool's.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
