LaSalle Strawberry Festival puts out call for volunteers

Just ahead of this year's LaSalle Strawberry Festival, organizers are looking for people to help clean strawberries.

The Town of LaSalle typically orders about 300 flats of strawberries from Raymont's Berries in Cottam.

The town said it's a good opportunity for high school students who need community service hours for graduation.

Volunteers don't need to register. They're asked to meet at the Event Centre at LaSalle Landing at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7.

The festival gets underway the next day and wraps up the following Sunday, June 11, at the Vollmer Recreation Complex on Laurier Parkway.
