Fire at Walkerville storage facility deemed suspicious

A second fire Thursday night in Windsor has been considered suspicious by investigators.

Crews responded to the fire at the U-Haul storage facility on Walker Road near Seminole Street at around 8 p.m. Fire officials confirmed the fire was out a short time later, and firefighters were beginning overhaul and ventilation of the scene.

No one was injured.

The Windsor police's arson unit was called in and it was determined that the fire was set on purpose in a storage unit, and it quickly spread to other units.

Officials have asked residents and business owners in the neighbourhood to check any security or dashcam footage for any unusual activity at that time, and give police a call if anything is found.

Windsor police are also looking for a 20-year-old man believed to be connected to an apartment fire earlier Thursday afternoon on Glengarry Avenue.
