One Windsor councillor is asking for the administration to institute a code of conduct at City-operated facilities.
Ward 4 Councillor Mark McKenzie asked his question near the end of Monday night's council meeting.
"That administration develop new policies to tamp down on frivolous, injurious, and unreasonable behaviour at City Hall and other City-owned facilities, similar to what Essex County Council has recently implemented," said McKenzie Monday. "And also, report back on the feasibility of installing metal detectors at City Hall, as well as the WFCU Centre."

The code of conduct adopted by County Council was made necessary after an April meeting became chaotic. The county's official plan was being commented on by the public, when the meeting was interrupted by a huge crowd of protestors who began shouting at councillors and using profanity. Warden Hilda MacDonald ordered meetings to be returned to a virtual format.
Coincidentally, Monday night's Windsor council meeting was interrupted when a resident collapsed on the floor. Police officers had been called in to remove the person for repeatedly disrupting the meeting, and the man collapsed while being escorted out. Mayor Drew Dilkens called for a recess and the meeting was resumed after a 15-minute delay.
McKenzie's notice of motion was carried by council members. It is not yet known when the request will be brought forward for consideration.
