Drivers caught red-handed street racing in LaSalle

Two drivers will have to walk for the next month after a LaSalle Police officer arrested them for street racing.

The officer was in a marked cruiser on Front Road when he spotted one driver going 47 km/h over the speed limit.

Before he could, a second vehicle started racing the first.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 23-year-old man from LaSalle, was charged for stunt driving and street racing.

The second is a 21-year-old man from Harrow. He's also charged with street racing.

The vehicles, a BMW sedan and a Ford Mustang, were impounded, and the drivers had their licenses suspended for 30 days.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
