Leamington dog owners urged to get pets licensed

If you live in Leamington, have a dog, and haven't registered it yet, you might want to do so before bylaw enforcement visits.

Starting June 14, municipal staff will go door-to-door to ensure each dog is registered and has a dog tag.

They'll also check nobody has more than two dogs in their home unless the property is registered as a dog kennel.

Tags cost $40 per dog and can be bought online or at the Leamington Municipal Building on Erie Street North.

Those who don't register their dog could be fined.
