Police make final arrests in downtown assault

Another two suspects were arrested in connection to a brutal beating in downtown last month.

The Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation after a 26-year-old man was beaten near the intersection of Pelissier Street and University Avenue on May 27, 2023. The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators identified five suspects in relation to the incident. Three were arrested and charged within days of the incident.

On June 9, police arrested a 17-year-old and he was charged with aggravated assault.

On Monday, a 22-year-old from LaSalle turned himself into Windsor Police headquarters. He is also facing charges of aggravated assault.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
