Windsor assault suspect surrenders to police

Windsor police say a man has been arrested after an east-end assault Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to Tecumseh Road East and Cadillac Street. They learned that a man was approached by someone riding a bicycle. After a short conversation between the man and the cyclist, the suspect allegedly punched the victim in the head, knocking him unconscious.

Police said the suspect rode off on his bicycle and the victim was sent to the hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say a 21-year-old man turned himself in to Windsor police headquarters Wednesday evening. He's been charged with assault causing bodily harm.

The charge has not been proven in court.

Windsor police would like to thank the public for its help in resolving this matter.
