UPDATE: Man in custody following robbery in Uptown Leamington

The Ontario Provincial Police say a 21-year-old Windsor man has been arrested following what is now being described as a robbery in Leamington.

Officers arrived at the corner of Erie Street South and Oak Street East around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, on a report of a robbery in progress.

The OPP West Region Emergency Response Team, and Canine Unit responded to the area, and several items of offence-related property were also found.

The suspect has been charged with armed robbery, pointing a firearm, and obstructing a peace officer.

The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect was being held pending a bail hearing in a Windsor court.

The heavy police presence continued in the area for the rest of the morning.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
