Police seek man accused of setting vehicle ablaze

Windsor police are searching for a man accused of deliberately setting a car on fire in South Walkerville Wednesday evening. 

Officers responded to the blaze in the area of Stanley Street east of Remington Avenue at around 7:30 p.m. 

Upon arrival, police learned that two men had been involved in a verbal confrontation, which escalated when the suspect allegedly set the other man’s vehicle on fire. The accused took off before police arrived. 

No one was injured during the incident. 

Police have identified the suspect as 45-year-old Joseph Lamphier. He is wanted for arson causing property damage.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
