Suspect sought in downtown Windsor burglary

Windsor police are asking for assistance locating a man suspected of breaking into a downtown business last week.

Officers were called on Thursday, June 22, to a business on Ouellette Avenue near University Avenue on a break-and-enter complaint.

Surveillance video from the business was obtained, and a man was seen wandering around inside before grabbing the till and fleeing.

The suspect is described as a White male, 5’ 6”, and 140 pounds. He wore a snapback, a jacket with a reflective strip on the chest, and dark pants.

Police have asked the public to take a look at several photos. If you recognize the suspect or have additional information, call the Windsor police's Target Unit at (519) 255-6700, ext. 4830. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at (519) 258-TIPS (8477) to be eligible for a cash reward.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
