High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A Wheatley artist known for her woodworking skills has completed Tecumseh's latest sculpture at Lakewood Park North.Heather Mallaby has transformed an old tree stump into a work of art for the public to enjoy.The Town of Tecumseh plans to unveil the work on the beach at 11 a.m. on Monday.The Windsor-Essex Community Foundation sponsored the sculpture, and a direct descendant of Chief Tecumseh, Patricia Shawnoo, will unveil it.The project commemorates the foundation's 40th anniversary.Members of the Tecumtha Ogitchada Society will provide traditional singing and drumming during the unveiling ceremony.Lakewood Park North Beach is on Riverside Drive East at the foot of Manning Road.
