UPDATE: OPP make contact with youth sought for well-being check

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they have made contact with a youth, whose safety they were concerned about.

On Monday morning, the OPP wanted to check on the well-being of a female. The person was not missing, but they were concerned for her safety.

Later Monday afternoon, the OPP tweeted that the person has been accounted for and is safe.

Police would like to thank the public and media for their help in this matter.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
