High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A 30-year-old Windsor man is facing charges after a break-and-enter at a downtown business last month.The incident happened on University Avenue on June 20. Investigators found a suspect smashed windows to gain access to the property causing around $2,000 in damage.A suspect was identified and a warrant was issued for his arrest.On July 21, the suspect tried to retrieve his vehicle from an impoundment at Windsor Police Headquarters. Officers discovered the outstanding warrant and took him into custody.He has been charged with breaking and entering and possessing break-in instruments.
