Heat and humidity causing poor air quality

Environment Canada has issued an air quality statement because of the possibility of deteriorating air quality.

Hot and humid weather conditions are creating elevated pollution levels. The ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon will create moderate to high-risk values on the air quality index.

Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.

A heat warning is also in effect until Friday.

The air quality index can be viewed here.
