Walk-in mental health services expanding hours

Starting this week, the Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre is extending walk-in hours.

The centre will be open for walk-in appointments with a specialized crisis worker from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walk-ins will continue on the weekends from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Crisis and Mental Wellness Centre, located at 744 Ouellette Ave., works with community social agencies to provide crisis response services to people 16 years of age and older.

The Windsor Police Service has been calling on community partners to offer more services after regular hours so that they are not the only option when someone is in crisis.
