City report recommends removing curling services from Roseland

A report going to Windsor City Council next week recommends removing curling from Roseland Golf and Curling Club and moving services to the WFCU Centre.

The move would include transforming one of the community rinks to a five-lane curling facility. The report also recommends renovating the space to include a dedicated lounge and other amenities for curling.

These renovations would cost $525,000.

The administration recommended the WFCU community rink because the facility currently has the most prime-time ice capacity.

This option is recommended over renovating the Roseland Golf and Curling facility or building a new stand-alone curling rink facility. Both of these options could cost around $12 million.

The report will be debated at a Windsor City Council meeting Tuesday evening.
