Investigation continues into two house fires in Tecumseh

Firefighters in Tecumseh responded to two house fires over the long weekend, including one where a woman was trapped inside.

Just before 2 p.m. on Monday, firefighters arrived at a home on County Road 42, east of Lauzon Parkway.

Paramedics rushed the bedridden woman to Windsor Regional Hospital.

Four people were displaced by the fire, which caused $200,000 in damage.

Early Sunday morning, firefighters responded to another fire at a house on Intersection Road.

They could see flames shooting from the house when they arrived, but no one was there at the time, and nobody was hurt.

That fire caused $350,000 in damage and displaced a lone tenant.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
