OPP officer assaulted during arrest at Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre

A Windsor man faces charges after a disturbance in Leamington at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.

The Ontario Provincial Police were called there around 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The OPP had difficulty arresting the suspect because he resisted and allegedly assaulted an off-duty officer.

Eventually, they got the man in handcuffs and took him to the OPP detachment in Leamington for processing.

Now, a 29-year-old man faces assault with intent to resist arrest and assaulting a peace officer charges.

The charges haven't been proven in court, but the man has a date to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
