Impaired driving blamed for early morning crash

The Ontario Provincial Police says an Amherstburg woman faces impaired driving charges after a crash in the roundabout at Hwy. 3 and Howard Avenue.

Officers were called to the roundabout around 12:30 a.m. on Friday after the single-vehicle crash.

No one was hurt.

They said the driver tried to flee on foot, but officers arrested her on Howard Avenue at South Talbot Road.

Since the woman appeared impaired, she was driven to the OPP detachment in Tecumseh for further testing.

Her license is suspended for the next 90 days, and her vehicle will be in the impoundment yard for a week.
