One person displaced after house fire in south Windsor

The cause of a fire that erupted inside a home in the city’s south end has been deemed accidental, Windsor fire officials say.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at a home on Byng Road sometime around 6 p.m. Friday. Crews arrived and were able to get the fire under control promptly before beginning to ventilate and conduct an overhaul of the structure to locate possible hot spots.

No injuries were reported.

The fire was out by around 7 p.m. and an investigator was contacted to attend the scene.

One person has been displaced from the home as a result, while damages have been pegged at approximately $130,000.
