Charges laid in intimate partner violence incident in Kingsville

The Ontario Provincial Police in Kingsville have opened an intimate partner violence investigation after an incident on Sunday.

Officers responded to a call from a home in Kingsville where they charged a 29-year-old Leamington resident with break and enter and theft under $5,000.

The OPP did not say where the incident happened and haven't identified those involved.

Police stress victims of sexual assault and intimate partner violence are not alone.

The accused has a court date before the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
