Man arrested after downtown robbery, stabbing

A Windsor man was arrested after a woman was robbed and stabbed downtown.

Police were called to the area of Dufferin Place near Elliott Street East around 5 p.m. Monday.

When they arrived, they found a 41-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound to her face.

Investigators learned that a man approached the victim demanding money and then stabbed her. He took off before the police arrived.

Officers got a description of the suspect and he was arrested a short time afterward on Goyeau Avenue.

The suspect has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, assault causing bodily harm and failure to comply with a release order.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
