Man wanted in Waterloo homicide investigation has ties to Windsor

A person wanted on second-degree murder charges after a homicide in Waterloo has ties to the Windsor area.

On August 13, 2023, an 18-year-old Kitchener man died after he was shot outside a business.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service has issued a Canada-wide warrant for Habiton Solomon, 20, from Hamilton.

He is described as 5'8" tall around 130 lbs, with a thin build, black hair and brown eyes. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous. If seen, he should not be approached.

Police report Solomon has connections to Ottawa, Windsor, Brantford, North Bay, Huntsville, and Hamilton.

A 19-year-old from Hamilton has also been arrested in connection to the case and is facing charges of manslaughter.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
