Plans to expand Water's Edge Event Centre

The owner of Water's Edge Event Centre has big plans to expand the facility.

The former Our Lady of Rosary Church on Riverside Drive currently hosts weddings and events.

Larry Horwitz would like to expand the facility to include apartments, a boutique hotel, spa, a restaurant, and an expanded convention centre.

"This is the first phase where we are presenting the design and the second phase is when we are addressing the city, working with planning and all the other issues, talking about incentives such as CAP and looking at potential investors," said Horwitz.

He did not have an estimated budget or timeline for the project.

Horwitz said if the project goes forward it would be done in phases so it does not interrupt events already booked for the site.
