UPDATE: Suspect in Windsor restaurant assault surrenders

Windsor police say a man suspected of assaulting a restaurant employee has turned himself in.

Officers were called on Sunday afternoon to the eatery on Walker Road near Ottawa Street. Police were told that there was an altercation between the suspect and an employee.

Police released a photo of the suspect and requested that he turn himself in. It was reported shortly after noon Tuesday that he had done so.

Investigators would like to thank the public for their help in this matter.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
